Why did DB and I choose to visit Charleston, well that is where we went on our honeymoon. We thought it would be fun to go back, stay at the same hotel and explore the parts of the city we missed the first go around. We left bright and early Thursday morning... okay, we left late and arrived later than we had planned, but in time for the free wine and cheese!
On the way to Charleston we stopped in Columbia and ate at Pawleys Front Porch the place had been featured on Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives. (This is one of DB's favorite shows.) Pawleys specializes in hamburgers that are named after places in South Carolina, it was quite good. Of course, that could have had something to do with the fact by the time we arrived it was 2:00 pm and we were starved.
Harbourview Inn, it is the only inn in Charleston that you can see the harbor. We splurged and stayed in a room with a view and balcony. There was a storm blowing in our first night so after grabbing a glass of free wine, we headed to the terrace to watch the sunset and enjoy the view.
Charleston is known as the Holy City due to the number of churches and its belief in religious tolerance.
